What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?

Life coaching and counselling/therapy serve distinct yet complementary roles in improving the quality of life.

Life coaching, as defined by the ICF (International Coaching Federation), is "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential." It focuses on setting and achieving specific goals, enhancing performance, and fostering personal growth. Life coaches help clients identify their strengths, develop strategies, and stay accountable.

Counselling/therapy supports emotional healing and psychological well-being. Therapists address past traumas, mental health issues, and emotional challenges, providing a safe space for clients to explore and resolve deeply rooted concerns.

Therapeutic coaching as offered by Vanessa, blends these approaches. This hybrid model supports addressing both present and future goals whilst clearing any underlying emotional barriers, fostering holistic growth and well-being. These methods ensures that clients not only achieve their aspirations but also maintain emotional resilience and mental health.
